Well-Paid Entry Jobs


“Well-paid” and “entry level jobs” sometimes feel like two mutually exclusive concepts.  However, that is not always the case! If a great salary is a requirement for you, and not just a perk, then you should look more for competitive fields that generally require an undergraduate education.

Here is a list of well-paid entry level jobs.

Investment Banking Analyst

With a a salary of $75,000 a year, and $37,000 worth of bonuses, an investment banking analyst is a very well-paid entry-level position.

The job calls for a Bachelors degree in Finance or Business, or preferably an MBA.  They examine industry research, build financial valuation models, and produce investment presentation materials. Because the position is particularly well-paid, the job is quite difficult. 80 hour work-weeks are common, and stress levels are high.

Computer Systems Analyst

At an almost $80,000 a year, a computer systems analyst is very comfortable. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also predicts a positive outlook for this job, since it predicts a 25% increase in jobs by 2022.

The job requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. They analyze interaction and making recommendations to help a company or organization operate more efficiently. They also choose and configure hardware and software. Finally, computer systems analysts assess the costs and benefits of system improvements. 

Occupational Therapy

An occupational therapist earns $75,000 a year. He or she help treat injured peoples and assist in the patients’ recovery by helping their movement in everyday tasks.

The job requires a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. The number of occupational therapy jobs is expected to grow by 29% by 2022.

Software Developer

A software developer earns $93,350 a year, and the job requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. They are described as the “creative minds” of the computer world. The Bureau of Labor Statistics describes the job responsibilities as “[developing] the applications that allow people to do specific tasks on a computer or other device. Others develop the underlying systems that run the devices or control networks.”  

The number of software developers is expected to grow by 22% by 2022.

Air Traffic Controller

Unlike the previously mentioned entry level jobs, this well-paid job does not require a Bachelor’s degree. Rather, an air traffic controller undergoes extensive training by the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as completing mental stability and health checks. In exchange, the job is paid approximately $75,000 a year.

Unfortunately, the job is not expected to grow by 2022.  

Registered Nurse

A registered nurse is well-paid at $72,000 a year. We have discussed nurses before, and the outlook for nurses is most definitively positive.
